Lightcraft became a co-producer on Bubble Trubble, entering a contract to invest half of the postproduction budget of the film. The studio offered its help and expertise from the earliest stages of production – from choosing the best equipment and shooting methods, to preparing costumes and scenographic greenscreen elements -- all to ensure that the filmed materials were the most efficient for the planned CGI effects.
To make sure that everything would go smoothly, Lightcraft sent a visual effects consultant to supervise on the set. Piotr Kielar, a polish director and TV producer, not only kept a sharp eye on every detail during the filming, but also brought a lot of positive energy and became a great friend to the production team and crew.
After completing principle photography, the time came for precise conceptual work and design for the film’s
many visual effects. While Sonia and Lucas were busy editing the film in the US, Titus moved to Poland for two weeks
to meet with Lightcraft’s team of artists and to begin working on the design side of Bubble Trubble. Every drawing
and model down to the tiniest detail was thoroughly planned and discussed to obtain the effect that would satisfy
Titus’s scrutinizing and perfectionist eye…
Tests are still in progress and the first shots are completed, but the biggest job still lies ahead. The final edit is expected to be complete by the end of November. From that moment, Lightcraft will have about 5 months to produce over 500 CGI shots for the film.
Bubble Trubble will feature a lot of high-profile 3D animation, requiring the newest and most advanced computer graphics technology. Daniel Markowicz, visual effects and postproduction supervisor and owner of Lightcraft, has over a decade of experience in digital effects creation. Daniel will not only supervise the process to maintain the highest quality, but he will also take part in the process, working hands-on in the animation and compositing departments. Responsibility for the coordination of the project and communication between Lightcraft and Bubble Trubble Productions belongs to Mariola Niedzwiecka – Lightcraft’s postproduction coordinator.
The most important thing about LC-BT tandem, is that it is not purely a business relationship.
What comes first is the people, friendship and mutual trust. That’s what Bubble Trubble is all about!
